Where To Find The Best Carts

No matter what type of catering van you are looking for, you will want to find the right one at the right price.

Don’t buy new if you are just starting out!

The best way to start out is to start cheap.  You’ll begin to make an income no matter what kind of stand you have and the great thing about this industry is that you can sell you stand on at any time as there are thousands of people looking for good quality concession carts and hot dog stands.

So where do you look for the best second hand ones – well Craigslist is a great place to start.  There are also a number of online vending forums that will have a few on offer.  Another way to search online is to put in online classifieds.  This generally pulls up the most popular including Craigslist and Backpages.

super-deluxe-teardrop-trailerEbay is also another great option.  If you want to think a little outside of the box, you could purchase a classic tearshaped trailer and convert it – this sort of thing draws a lot of attention and could be a real crowd puller.

What about Brand New Carts?

There are so many great places to find new carts if you have the money and know what kind of vending is going to suit you the best.

When buying new take into consideration that your catering van needs to cater for your needs as well as those of the cutomer.  Depending on the type of weather you are likely to encounter and how many hours of direct sunlight you are going to experience are all factors to consider.

You also want to make sure that you have good lock and go facilities in case you need to make a quick dash to the bathroom, that’s if you don’t have someone who can stand in for you.  Thinking about all this is vital before you spend a lot of money.

How Easy Is It To Start Hot Dog Vending

Really, How Easy is It To Start?

When I first thought of the idea of starting a hot dog stand, I really just wanted to make some money until I got another job. I thought that if I had a hotdog stand, I could go on interviews anytime as my hours would be my own and with just a small start up cost – it really seemed like a no brainer.

I’ve never done anything like this before, so I thought I should do some research and everywhere I looked, I saw this guy, Perry’s guide to starting your own hot dog stand. There were loads of people talking about it, so I decided the investment might be worth the money. There was also a 60 day money back guarantee, so if it didn’t live up to the promises, I could get my money back.

I bought it, I read it and then I did it. Just two and a half weeks later, I was selling hot dogs, hamburgers, sodas and sweets. The best part of the book was that it included stuff I wouldn’t even have thought about. It did include all the legal stuff and the permits needed, but it was other stuff like the psychology of selling that I new nothing about.

Since starting this business six months ago, I’ve been on eight interviews, but I don’t really want just any job anymore. I’m making enough money to cover my living expenses and although it’s cold right now and working in the cold is hard, it’s so much better than not working at all.

I don’t know how long it will take for me to get a really good job, but I work for myself right now which is great. I have found a location that works so well, it was one of the locations that Perry suggested in his book – again that I wouldn’t have thought of and I can do this for as long as it takes.
